Most European universities require attestation of academic
documents to apply as well as sometimes students have to attested their Passport+Birth
Certificate Copy. Details on how to attest are given on each university's
website. The documents usually have to be attested by the Board of Education /
University, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally the
Embassy / Consulate of that country. Before I gave details information about
those attestation process, first let me tell you about the key advantage about

Attestation from the Board of Education
যেভাবে এস.এস.সি এবং এইচ.এস.সি certificate এবং transcript সত্যায়ন করতে হয়
You will first go to your board of
education (Dhaka/Comilla/Dinajpur/Barishal/Jessore Board etc) with 3 sets of
photocopies along with the original of the required academic documents (SSC
& HSC Transcript and Certificate). Then from there fill a form (don’t worry
the Form will be provided by the Board Office) and the bank will draft a
certain amount of money (200 to 300 rupees per page) from Sonali Bank of the
Board of Education. Then you will get a receipt from there (Sonali Bank),
submit all your documents including that money receipt and form. It usually
takes 1 to 7 days to attest.
Note: If you
have to attest your (SSC & HSC Transcript and Certificate) from the
Ministry of Education & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Then First, the
documents must be attested by the Board of Education. If you are in Dhaka but
passed from Jessore Board, then you have to go to Jessore Board. Once your
documents certified by the Board of Education, it will be attested by the
Ministry of Education. And only if it is attested by the Ministry of Education,
then it will be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
O / A levels (English Medium): Academic documents (O / A Levels) with original 3
sets of photocopies must first be attested by the British Council.
Attestation from the University
You will have to attest the certificate and marksheet of Bachelor
/ Masters from the Registrar / Exam Controller of your university. For this,
you have to submit the slip with 50 to 100 BDT (as per page) to the bank
registrar's office in the bank within the university. For Example, Dhaka Universities
graduates certificates & Marksheet attestation fees taken by the Sonali
Bank, Dhaka university, TSC Branch.
Attestation from the Education Ministry

First you have to go “Bangladesh
Secretariat” in Dhaka. Secretariat Gate No. 02, Counter No. 10 (If you are
coming from Paltan Junction, you have to go right from Zero Point Junction).
You can give as many photocopies as you need with the original paper. Submit
documents from 10 - 11:30 in the morning. But you have to go a little earlier
because there are often big lines. The documents were returned at around
3.30-4.00 pm on the same day. But before you go out, you must see if the seal
and signature are correct, otherwise all the trouble is in vain.
For a diploma student the marksheet of
the institute should first be filled up from the office of the registrar of the
institute, attested by the principal and attested by the technical board along
with the transcripts of the rest of the board examinations. Then everything has
to be done from the Technical and Madrasa Board (eight floors of the transport
building) under the Ministry of Education.
Note: Do not
submit documents of Technical Board and Madrasa Board to the Ministry of Education
for attestation. In case of Technical Board and Madrasa Board, candidate have
to go the road transport building (8th floor). It will not cost any
money here.
Attestation from the Foreign Ministry

If you visit from the palton-mor to
the press club more, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along the road just
opposite of the press club. You should be present at 8.45 am. Ministry will
start taking the documents at 9 o'clock. There are two counters. Counter A
& Counter C. Deposits are made at two booths at Counter C. 16 to 18 copies
can be submitted. Be sure to take a photocopy of National Identity Card /
Passport. The return will start at 3.30 pm on the same day. Before leaving,
make sure that the seal, serial number and signature are correct, otherwise all
the trouble is in vain. It will not cost any money here.
Attestation of Birth Certificate:
You must first translate your birth
certificate into English (if it’s is Bangla). It will then be notarized and
after that can be attested by the Ministry of Law (Ministry of Law, Justice and
Parliamentary Affairs, Address: Secretariat Link Road, Dhaka 1205, 11th Floor)
and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Finally, attest all the attested documents
from the embassy / consulate of the country of your choice where you going to
apply for admission or visa.

university of your choice and the admission office will let you know the
details of where to attest some documents.
